Ahmedabad Metro Route Map:- Ahmedabad Metro, an urban Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS), is being developed by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, formerly known as the Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA). This project aims to connect Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s largest city, with its capital, Gandhinagar. Construction for Ahmedabad Metro’s Phase 1, covering 39.259 km, began in 2015. In February 2016, the Gujarat state government allocated ₹2 crore in its 2016-17 budget for the project and appointed the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase 2. The draft DPR outlines the 18.522 km extension of Line-2, which is planned to extend northward to Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar and include a branch line to GIFT City.

On February 2019, the Union Cabinet of India approved the construction of Phase 2, which spans 28.254 km and includes two corridors: a northward extension of Line-2 and a short spur. The foundation stone for this phase was laid by the Prime Minister on March 4, 2019. Additionally, a proposed 5 km line connecting Koteshwar Road to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (a spur of the Red Line) is also planned to be part of Phase 2.

History Of Ahmedabad Metro
