Delhi Metro Route Map – The Delhi Metro is a rapid transit system that serves Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) of India, encompassing cities like Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Bahadurgarh, and Ballabhgarh. Phase I Construction and Inauguration (1998-2002)

• Construction of Phase I began in 1998, covering 8.4 kilometers. The Shahdara-Tis Hazari section of the Red Line opened on December 24, 2002, inaugurated by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
• Phase I comprised 64.75 km with 59 stations, including initial sections of the Red, Yellow, and Blue lines.

Phase II Expansion (2003-2011)

• Phase II expansion started in 2003, focusing on extending existing lines and adding new ones. It enhanced connectivity to major areas like Connaught Place and Pragati Maidan.
• The final stretch from Central Secretariat to Qutub Minar opened on June 3, 2010, completing Phase II with 123.3 km and 86 stations.

Phase III Expansion (2011-2017)

• Phase III aimed to further expand and improve the network, introducing lines like the Magenta and Pink lines.
• The first section of Phase III, from Central Secretariat to Mandi House, opened on June 26, 2014.
• Phase III concluded in 2017, adding approximately 140 km of new lines.

Phase IV

• Phase IV, approved in December 2018, is set to expand the network by 103 km with several new corridors and extensions, including Aerocity to Tughlakabad and Rithala to Narela.
