• Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen, or a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, and intends to stay permanently. Individuals of Indian origin from countries such as Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam) who have settled in India permanently are also eligible.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following educational qualifications based on the specific PGT post they are applying for:

• PGT Biology: Master’s in Life Science with at least 50% marks, Bachelor’s in Botany and Zoology, and B.Ed. degree.
• PGT Chemistry: MSc (Chemistry or Biochemistry) with a minimum of 50% marks + B.Ed. from a recognized university.
• PGT Commerce: MCom (Accounting/Cost Accounting/Financial Accounting) with a minimum of 50% marks + B.Ed. (excluding MCom in Applied/Business Economics).
• PGT Economics: M.A. in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics with 50% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university.
• PGT English: M.A. in English with 50% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university.
• PGT Fine Arts: M.A. in Fine Arts with 50% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university.

• Widowed/divorced women: 5 years
