આજે, આપણે ભારતનો 78મો સ્વતંત્રતા દિવસ ઉજવીએ છીએ, જે આપણા દેશને 15 ઓગસ્ટ 1947ના રોજ બ્રિટિશ શાસનમાંથી આઝાદી મળ્યાના 76 વર્ષ છે. આ દિવસ એક રાષ્ટ્રીય તહેવાર છે, તમામ ભારતીયો માટે ગૌરવ અને એકતાનો દિવસ છે, કારણ કે આપણે આપણી આઝાદીને યાદ કરીએ છીએ. બ્રિટિશ ગુલામીના 200 વર્ષ.

15 ઓગસ્ટના રોજ સમગ્ર દેશ દેશભક્તિના ગીતો, સૂત્રોચ્ચાર અને સાંસ્કૃતિક કાર્યક્રમો સાથે ઉજવણી કરે છે. સૌથી મોટી ઘટના દિલ્હીના લાલ કિલ્લા પર થાય છે, જ્યાં વડા પ્રધાન ત્રિરંગો ફરકાવે છે અને રાષ્ટ્રને સંબોધિત કરે છે. આ પરંપરા 15 ઓગસ્ટ 1947ના રોજ આપણા પ્રથમ વડાપ્રધાન જવાહરલાલ નહેરુથી શરૂ થઈ હતી અને તે આપણા બધા માટે ગર્વની ક્ષણ બની રહી છે.
