The exam pattern for the NIACL (New India Assurance Company Limited) Administrative Officer (AO) job consists of three main stages:

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

(ii) Descriptive Test:

• Duration: 30 minutes
• Marks: 30
• Content: Letter Writing (10 marks) and Essay (20 marks)
• Medium: English

Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks in each section of the Objective Test to proceed to the Descriptive Test. Only those who qualify the Objective Test will have their Descriptive Test evaluated. The cut-off for the Descriptive Test will be determined based on the number of vacancies. Candidates need a minimum score of 15/30 (13.5/30 for SC, ST, and PwBD) in the Descriptive Test to qualify. The marks obtained in the Descriptive Test will not affect the final selection but are necessary for shortlisting.

Phase-III: Interview

Shortlisted candidates from Phase-II will be invited for an Interview, which will be conducted at select centers. The Interview carries a weightage of 25%, while the online examination accounts for 75%. Interview details, including the venue, date, and time, will be communicated via call letters.
