UTET Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025

The UTET 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria are set by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) to ensure that candidates meet the necessary qualifications to teach in primary (Classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (Classes 6 to 8) schools in Uttarakhand. For the primary level (Paper I), candidates must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./B.T.C.) or equivalent, with at least 50% marks in their 10+2 (Senior Secondary) exams.

Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and a D.El.Ed. are also eligible. For the upper primary level (Paper II), candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks and have passed or be appearing in the final year of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program. There are also provisions for candidates with specific qualifications, such as a 4-year B.El.Ed. or a B.Sc.Ed./B.A.Ed. degree, to apply. Education Qualification

Primary Level (Paper I)

• Code 01: 10+2 Intermediate (Senior Secondary) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
• Code 02: 10+2 Intermediate (Senior Secondary) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
• Code 03: 10+2 Intermediate (Senior Secondary) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
• Code 04: 10+2 Intermediate (Senior Secondary) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Code 05: Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
• Code 06: Shiksha Mitra who passed the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from IGNOU.

Junior Level (Paper II)

• Code 01: Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./D.El.Ed.).
• Code 02: Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed./L.T./Shiksha Shastri) (Regular).
• Code 03: Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed./L.T./Shiksha Shastri) (Regular), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.
• Code 04: 10+2 Intermediate (Senior Secondary) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
• Code 05: 10+2 Intermediate (Senior Secondary) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
• Code 06: Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).
• Code 07: At least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post-Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Note: The minimum percentage of marks in Graduation is not applicable to candidates who were admitted to the B.Ed. or B.El.Ed. course before 29th July 2011.
